Michael Robertson:
Robertson was part of a defense that gave a dominating performance last weekend, shutting out a pair of nationally-ranked teams en route to setting a new SCAC record.Robertson and the Tiger backs gave up no goals on just 12 total shots against No. 23 DePauw and No. 10 Centre – both of which came into the game among the league leaders offensively. DePauw was second in the SCAC with 3.0 goals and over 17 shots per game coming into the weekend, but managed just seven shots against these four defenders. Centre was averaging over 16 shots and 2.6 goals per game, but was held to just five total shots in the shutout loss.Robertson has started on the back row in every game this season, which includes seven shutouts in league play. The Tigers have recorded six consecutive SCAC shutouts, which breaks the conference record tied by Trinity in 2004-2005 and set by Southwestern during the 2001 season.The Trinity defense leads the league in goals allowed, yielding just five goals in 15 games, and recording 10 overall shutouts.
Jim Ferriero:
Ferriero assisted both goals and anchored Wheaton's backfield during a 2-1 win over Babson on Saturday, helping the Lyons clinch their seventh NEWMAC regular season title in the league's 10-year history. Ferriero's free kicks in the eighth and 15th minutes each led to goals, and he guided a defense that did not yield a goal until the 82nd minute. Entering the game, Ferriero had three career assists in his first 77 contests.
Dan De Hart:
Ozarks junior defender Dan De Hart (Rocklin, CA / RHS) spearheaded a unit that allowed only two goals in a pair of conference wins that propelled the Eagles into first place in the standings entering the final week. De Hart limited both Schreiner and Texas Lutheran’s leading scorers to no goals and a combined three shots – none of which were on goal. De Hart also helped Ozarks remain the league’s leader in goals-against average.
Peter Dagel:
Scored game-winner in two straight conference games in wins over Buffalo State and Brockport State. Wins helped Fredonia secure #1 seed in play-offs. Added another goal to make three goals for the week in tow crucial games.
Andrew Dorsey:
Andrew Dorsey had four goals and one assist in three games last week, leading Rutgers-Camden to a 2-0-1 week. He had an assist on the GW goal vs. Gwynedd-Mercy (Oct. 15), had his third career hat trick (tying the program record for hat tricks) against Lebanon Valley (Oct. 17) and scored the tying goal in a 1-1 deadlock vs. Ramapo (Oct. 20). He is one of only two Scarlet Raptors with three career hat tricks, two of which have come this season. He was named New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week Monday
Shane Price:
Wittenberg junior forward Shane Price (Minford, OH/Minford) leads the Tigers with 28 points, thanks to the five goals he scored in a pair of Tiger victories last week. Price notched a hat trick in the Tigers’ 4-1 win over Earlham and then was responsible for both goals in a 2-0 win over Allegheny
John San Filippo:
John San Filippo posted back-to-back shutout SUNYAC wins on the road, helping Plattsburgh secure a first-round bye in the conference tournament. San Filippo made four saves in a 2-0 win at Potsdam and two in a 3-0 victory at Morrisville. He has 12 shutouts to tie a school single-season record that has stood for 13 years (Eric Rienecker, 1994). He was without the services of captain Noel Tipovski organizing the backline for both games.
Jeritt Thayer:
Senior midfielder Jeritt Thayer of New York University scored four goals and added an assist in the Violets' 2-0 week. Thayer netted two goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist in the first 4:46 of a 5-1 triumph over Rowan University on Oct. 17. Four days later, he produced two more tallies to give him 13 this season in a 4-0 victory at St. Joseph's College-Long Island.
Gary Boughton:
Gary Boughton- Boughton had another big week in leading the mavericks to a pair of victories clinching their 3rd straight AMCC Regular Season Conference Crown. Since Gary's arrival at Medaille, the team has held a record of 34-2-3 overall and 18-0-1 in conference play to date. Gary's playmaking ability is one of the reasons for Medailles success and he currently leads all of NCAA Division III in assists with 18. Against Pitt-Bradford Boughton had a pair of goals and one assist, then against Pitt-Greensburg had the assist on the game winning goal and played very well in the midfield. Overall, he had a 6 point week and currently leads the AMCC conference in points and assists.
Michael Kendall:
11 Shots...9 SOG...3 Goals...1 Assist.Two goals in 5-0 ASC over LeTourneau...One goal and one assist in 3-0 ASC win over East Texas Baptist...Leads Patriots with 9 goals and 22 points.
Kyle Sterling:
Sterling continues to have a great season as he recorded seven points in a win against Christopher Newport, 5-3. Sterling recorded his first career hat trick and had an assist in the victory. Sterling scored a goal and dished out an assist in the victory over Hood College on Saturday afternoon. The win gave SU coach Gerry DiBartolo his 300th career win at SU. Sterling now has 13 goals on the season and is leading the team in the points. Sterling was named Capital Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for a second time this season for his play.
Stephanie Taylor:
Junior defender Stephanie Taylor led Manchester College to a pair of 3-1 wins during the week and added the first goal in each game. The sweeper is 4th on our team in points this season.
Erin Davis:
Davis helped seventh-ranked Wheaton go 3-0 and clinch at least a share of its ninth straight NEWMAC regular season title by scoring one game-winning goal, assisting on another and anchoring a defense that yielded just 16 shots and no goals in 270 minutes of action. Against Babson on Tuesday, she played all 90 minutes and helped the Lyons blank the Beavers, 1-0, while allowing just 11 shots to a team averaging more than two goals. Davis tallied the game-winning marker during Wheaton's 3-0 victory over Gordon on Thursday, netting a penalty-kick goal during the 57th minute as the Lyons held the Fighting Scots to four shots. In Wheaton's 6-0 win against WPI on Saturday, she assisted the first and third goals of the game while the Blue and White yielded only one shot.
Brittany Bergh:
Wheaton (Ill.) College's Brittany Bergh scored the second of her two goals in double overtime as the top-ranked Thunder defeated the University of Chicago women's soccer team 3-2 this weekend.
Leah Solomon:
UTT forward Leah Solomon scored 2 goals and added two assists this week. The freshman played a major role in a pair of big ASC victories over the weekend, as she tallied a goal and two assists in a 5-1 win over LeTourneau and added a goal in a 5-2 win over East Texas. Solomon scored 6 of her 10 season points in this week's two games.
Danielle Radlich:
Sophomore forward Danielle Radlich played well in a couple of conference matches this week, leading the mavericks to two victories and clinching a playoff spot. She helped to control the match vs. Pitt-Bradford, then scored the game winning goal vs. Greensburg. Radlich currently leads the AMCC in goals with 21.
Helen Giroux:
Giroux tallied a total of five goals and three assists to help the Cardinals shutout two conference opponents at home this week: Potsdam 4-0 and Morrisville 12-0. Giroux has set a record at Plattsburgh State for most goals scored by a freshman in a season season (tied with current teammate Elizabeth Radigan) with 16. Giroux tallied the game-winning goal versus Potsdam on Wednesday and leads the team with four. Giroux is currently second on the team in scoring with 39 points (16G, 7A).
Hillary Reichardt:
Reichardt started off the 2007 season red-hot, registering a seven-point performance, that included a hat trick, during the Lady Pioneers’ 6-2 season-opening victory at North Park. The senior forward assisted Trisha Konkol’s goal to open the game and followed with two goals of her own to give Carroll a 3-0 lead. After North Park cut the advantage to 3-2, Reichardt tallied her third netter of the game to give Carroll even more breathing room.
Liz Durfee:
Junior keeper Liz Durfee posted consecutive 1-0 shutouts on the week recording five saves in the win over Geneseo and six saves in the victory over Fredonia. Since taking over as the starting goalie, she has registered two shutouts and has a perfect 3-0 record, as well as a 0.83 GAA.
Meghan Coyle:
Freshman netminder Meghan Coyole made seven saves to post 1-0 shutout win over Misericordia University, Marywood's first in 10 tries against the Cougars. Extended shutout streak to 365:17, over four games, including two double OT 0-0 ties. Set Marywood individual season record with 8th solo shut-out, helped team to school single-season record 10th shut-out. Also tied career goalkeeper shut-out mark with 8.
Katie Murphy:
Allegheny junior midfielder Katie Murphy (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) scored twice in a 3-1 win over Oberlin, becoming the first Gator to score multiple goals in a single game this season. She leads Allegheny with five goals and is tied for the team lead with 10 points. Allegheny posted a 2-1 week, also defeating Hiram, 1-0, and falling to first-place Wittenberg, 1-0.
Erin McComas:
Outside midfielder Erin McComas scored 4 goals in 2 games and both were game winners. She scored the first 2 goals in a 3-1 win over Grace College and the first 2 in a 3-0 win over Defiance College.
