Franco Bari Resigns at Greensboro College

Franco Bari has resigned as head women�s soccer coach at Greensboro College, announced Pride Athletics Director Kim Strable. Bari has accepted a similar position at St. Lawrence University in New York, his alma mater.

Bari led the 2007 GC team to a 14-4-1 record, the most wins ever in Pride women's soccer history. The '07 club GC set 9 individual records and 7 team single season marks in 2007, including most points (181) and best goals against average (0.67).

"Coach Bari is a remarkable person who also happens to be an outstanding coach," Strable said. "Our program is on solid ground because of Franco's efforts and we wish him nothing but the very best as rejoins his alma mater."

Bari had a 22-13-3 record at Greensboro and an intercollegiate overall mark of 69-52-8. He leaves the program with the best overall winning percentage (.618) and top in-conference win percentage (.812) among all Pride women's soccer coaches. He arrived at GC after spending the previous five seasons at Elmira (N.Y.) College, also an NCAA Division III institution.

A 1998 graduate of St. Lawrence University and a National All-American for the men�s soccer team, Bari was a four-time First Team All-Conference selection at St. Lawrence and was named UCAA Player of the Year in 1997.

His long list of administrative experience includes service as the CHAMPS/Life Skills and Compliance Coordinator at Greensboro College.

"I would first like to thank Athletic Director Kim Strable, President Williams and the rest of the Greensboro Community for all of their support towards our efforts and success, Bari said. � My experience at Greensboro College has been truly amazing and I am very proud of the teams accomplishments both on as well as off of the field of play."
