Tessa Hall Sets Record in Greensboro's 1-0 Win at Guilford
Greensboro, N.C. -- Greensboro College's Ashley Cabral, who'd left the game moments earlier due to injury, returned and scored in the 71st minute for the match's lone tally as The Pride won at Guilford, 1-0, on Tuesday.
The score came after a corner kick served by Tessa Hall (pictured).The assist was the 11th this season for Hall which is a new program record. She eclipsed the mark of 10 set by Amanda McGlaughlin in 2003.
The Pride moved to 9-2-1, while Guilford dropped to 4-8. The visitors out shot the home club 13-12. Guilford, however, had the edge in corner kicks, 5-3.
Katie Allegro picked up her first collegiate shutout and second straight win for The Pride. She had 6 saves. Guilford's Abby Stapler stopped 8 Greensboro shots.
For Cabral, it was her 17th goal of the season tying Nicole Duran's 1996 season for second all-time. She is just 2 behind single-season program leader Durand. She recorded 19 goals in 1997.
