Pins Named Assistant Women's Soccer CoachGRANVILLE - Denison University has announced the hiring of Tiffany Pins as assistant women's soccer coach for the 2007 season.

Pins has spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Wartburg College, where she helped guide the Knights to 25 victories over the last two seasons. She was a three year starter for the Knights (2002-04) and is the program's all-time leader in points (105) and goals scored (42). In 2004, Pins led Wartburg to a school-record, 16 victories and a spot in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals. She led the team in scoring in 2004 with 22 goals and was a second-team All-IIAC selection.

"Coach Pins exemplifies the high standards that have been set not only by me, but by our team as well," said head coach Gail Murphy. "She is professional, confident and understands the collegiate athletic experience. Her former college coach and colleagues at Wartburg echoed their respect for her strong work ethic, character and integrity. I feel fortunate to have such a positive coach, leader and mentor join our program."

Pins earned her bachelor's degree in history from Wartburg and is currently enrolled in the graduate program at the University of Northern Iowa. She holds a National License and an Advanced Regional License from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and has also served as an assistant coach at the club and high school level.

"I feel honored and excited to continue my coaching career at Denison University," said Pins. "I am thrilled to be a part of such an excellent University and athletic program and I am looking forward to helping continue the winning tradition of Big Red women's soccer."

Pins and her husband, Brian, will be residing in the Granville area. In the winter and spring athletic seasons Pins will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Denison sports information office and will instruct activities courses in the physical education department.
