Player Notes:

Jarod Thompson:

Thompson's solid defense play in the back led Ozarks to a 2-0 week and the 2007 ASC season championship. He used his 6-foot-3 frame to limit their two opponents to a combined two shots on goal. Thompson's marking ability limited LeTourneau and East Texas Baptistss leading goal scorers to a combined two shots, while helping Ozarks to a pair of shutouts. Ozarks now has nine shutouts, tied for tops in the ASC.

Preben Gietz:

Gietz scored the lone goal to lead Clark to a key 1-0 NEWMAC win over Wheaton College last Saturday. In addition to tallying his first marker of the season, the sophomore defender also helped the Cougars post their fourth conference shutout of the season with the victory. It marked the first time Clark had beaten Wheaton since joining the NEWMAC.

Juan Lopez:

Mary Hardin-Baylor senior defender Juan Lopez (Waco, TX / Reicher HS) led a unit that allowed only a combined 12 shots in back-to-back shutout wins, sending the Cru to a program-best No. 3 seeding in the ASC Championship Tournament. Lopez also scored goals in both victories, connecting on the game-winner in UMHB's first-ever win over Hardin-Simmons.

Harry Beddo:

Freshman forward Harry Beddo scored the game-winning goal in Washington University's 1-0 double overtime win over No. 5 Case Western Reserve University on Sunday, Oct. 28. Beddo also scored a pair of goals in the Bears' 3-1 win at Maryville University on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Beddo leads Washington U. in scoring, with nine goals and two assists.

Phillip Buffington:

Junior forward Phillip Buffington provided most of the offense for the Choctaws on a 2-0 weekend in the American Southwest Conference. The preseason Offensive Player of the Year scored four goals and added an assist in a 5-2 win over Texas Lutheran on Friday. In a 3-2 overtime win over Schreiner on Saturday, Buffington scored the game-winner. The Jackson, MS native took eight shots and connected with five goals on the weekend. The Choctaws secured the #4 seed in next week's conference tournament.

Bryan Pierzga:

Bryan had a 12 point week as the Lions went 3-0. He had the game winning goal in one game and the assist on the game winning goals in the other two games. His 17 goals ties the school record for goals in a season. 19 of his 55 career goals have been game winners. He failed to score in four games and was held without a point in only one game. Currently he has 43 points on the season, to give him 144 for his career.

Trent Michael:

: Turned in complete-match shutout in win over Central Region power Elmhurst Sunday. Ended week with four wins and 0.00 goals-against average in over 327 minutes in net. Dropped season goals-against average to 0.54. Effort part of current string of 11 consecutive wins and seven straight shutouts.

Drew Dilley:

Drew Dilley had a huge week in two GNAC victories for Norwich. On Wednesday he had a goal and assist in Norwich's 4-0 GNAC regular season title clinching over Emerson. On Sunday, he followed up this performance again versus Emerson in the GNAC Quarterfinals scoring 2 goals including the game winner in Norwich's 8-1 victory. Drew now has 15 goals and 4 assists on the year, remarkable for an outside midfielder.

Robby Crump:

In a very emotional night, which saw $5,300 donated in the name of Sue Hauck and Elizabeth Walter to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Senior outside midfielder Robby Crump scored the game winning goal and gave Centre the 3-2 overtime victory over Austin College. Just over five minutes into the overtime period, Crump, whose mother Sue Hauck passed away earlier this fall from breast cancer, hit the game-winner on a diving header. The goal the first in the senior's career and could not have created at a more magical moment. For the season, Crump adds 1 goal to his 2 assists for 4 total points as an outside midfielder.

Luke Lennox:

Lennox scored two goals and added an assist in two games. He scored the game-winning goal in overtime on a penalty kick in a 2-1 St. John Fisher win over Alfred, which gave the Cardinals the third seed in the Empire 8 tournament.

Daniel Webb:

Webb scored three goals on the week, including both game-winners in SCAC play. On Friday at Oglethorpe, Webb broke a scoreless tie during the 60th minute and then scored again eight minutes later to give the Pirates a 2-0 lead in an eventual 3-0 win. Then, on Sunday, SU traveled to Sewanee and pulled out a 2-1 win thanks to Webb's goal at the 85:14 mark. He attempted three shots in the two games with all of them reaching the back of the net.

Kari Scheelk:

Scheelk led a defensive unit that helped Carroll earn three shutouts in its final three conference matches of the 2007 regular-season. The Lady Pioneers secured their third conference championship in program history last week, as Scheelk and company recorded shutouts in wins against Lake Forest (3-0), Illinois College (12-0) and Monmouth (6-0). The senior defender also tallied her fourth goal of the season in the win over Monmouth.

Allison Smith:

In only one game this week, the Blugolds defeated UW-River Falls 6-0 to clinch its third straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season title. The win was the Blugold's conference-leading 12th shutout of the season. The Blugolds have also only given up four goals to conference opponents while scoring 33 this season. Smith and the Blugolds allowed only four shots to River Falls the entire match. A big part of those dominating defensive statistics is the play by Allison Smith. Not only is she a threat on the defensive side of the ball, but is also very effective on the offensive side. Smith ranks second on the team in assists (seven) and fifth in points (11). In the game against River Falls, Allison picked up her seventh assist of the season on a corner kick that Jamie Schiesel headed into the net.

Felicia Pena:

Howard Payne sophomore forward Felicia Pena (Carrollton, TX / Creekview HS) had four goals and an assist over three games, including a hat trick in a win over the University of Dallas. Pena, who finished the season as the Lady Jackets' leading scorer and was one of two players in the ASC with two hat tricks, had the game-tying goal and assisted on the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over McMurry.

Allison Terry:

Sunday afternoon junior forward, Allison Terry (Lexington, Ky.), was credited with the lone assist of the day in the Colonels' 2-0 win over Austin College (Texas). Terry also had 5 shots on goal. To date, Terry has scored 6 goals (3 of which are game winners) and earned 8 assists for a total of 20 points.

Caryn Rosoff:

Washington University sophomore forward Caryn Rosoff scored two goals and added two assists as the Bears captured its second-straight and fifth overall UAA championship with two home conference wins last weekend. Rosoff scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in the 3-1 victory over the University of Rochester on Friday. She followed that up with a goal and an assist in the 4-0 win over Case Western Reserve University on Sunday. Rosoff leads the team in points (20) and is tied for team lead with eight goals.

Kristin Watson:

Came off the bench to sore a pair of game winning goals in a 2-0 week for the 16-3 Eagles. Watson put away an overtime goal a minute and a half into extra time as Eastern downed York 2-1 on Monday.On Wednesday, Watson broke a deadlock in the 61st minute as the Eagles beat Moravian 2-0. Watson has 11 goals with 4 game-winners on the season.

Janece Levien:

Sophomore forward Janece Levien tallied 5 goals on 12 shots (7 SOG) this past weekend. She now has 21 goals on the season, one shy of the school record set by 2005 NSCAA DIII Player of the Year Cortney Kjar.

Katherine Gardner:

Katie Gardner lead Hamline to 3 consecutive shutout wins to end the season, including shutouts of conference rivals St. Olaf and St. Kate's. In those 3 games, she faced 27 shots and made 14 saves, finishing the season with a 277 minute scoreless streak. Gardner's play over the 2nd half of the season lead Hamline to their first winning season in program history, including program records for wins (10) and conference wins (4).

Katee Whitney:

Senior midfielder Katee Whitney scored twice in Saturday's game against the Luther College Norse in Decorah on Saturday. She twice sent corner kicks into the back of the net. The first came in the 23rd minute, and the second came nine seconds from the end of overtime for the game-winner. The Aloha, Oregon native has scored five goals in 2007. The win for Loras secured a perfect 8-0 record in conference play the top seed in the IIAC Tournament November 2-3, which will be hosted by Loras College.

Jessalyn Halsted:

Jessalyn Halsted had a goal and an assist in Ozarks 2-0 week, helping the Lady Eagles to their best season in the program's history. She had a combined 9 shots and 2 shots on goal in the two wins.

Callie Roth:

In her final home game in a Millsaps uniform, Roth netted a pair of goals in a span of 1 minute 37 seconds just inside the Lady Warriors' box to help lead the Majors to a 5-0 shutout win over SCAC foe Hendrix College. With two road games left, the win gives Millsaps its best regular season record since 2000.
