Meredith Soccer Takes Two USA South Player of the Week Awards
Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference released their player of the week awards. For the second week in a row, the Meredith soccer team has taken spots. Maggie Hart was named player of the week and Ashton Herbert was named rookie of the week.
Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Maggie Hart, Meredith - The Mooresville, North Carolina junior forward scored two goals in a 4-0 victory over Bridgewater last week. Hart scored the second and third tallies of the contest to help put the match away. The Avenging Angels' onlyother contest of the week was an 8-2 win over Marymount. Hart was placed on the 2008 Meredith College Espirit DIII All-Tournament Team for her play over the weekend.
Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Ashton Herbert, Meredith - The Richmond, Virginia freshman midfielder scored her first career goal in an 8-2 victory over Marymount last week. Herbert also tallied an assist in the win. Herbert did not appear in the Avenging Angels' only other contest of the week, a 4-0 win over Bridgewater.
