Warhawks Begin NCAA Tourney Journey at Home


MEN�S SOCCER � Whitewater to Host NCAA Regional

The UW-Whitewater men's soccer team will host a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III championship tournament regional Saturday and Sunday, November 10-11 at Fiskum Field on the north end of campus in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

Carthage College, 13-6-2, will play Washington University (MO), 13-4-2, in one regional semi-final at 1:30 Saturday. UW-W, 15-2-2, will face Dominican University (IL), 16-3-1, in the first match Saturday at 11:00. Saturday's winners will meet at 1:00 Sunday for the right to advance to sectional play November 16-17 or 17-18 at a site to be determined. The final four teams will play in Orlando, Florida November 23-24.

UW-Whitewater is making its sixth post-season appearance in the last seven years. The Warhawks advanced to the sweet sixteen in 2001 and 2002.

The Warhawks defeated Dominican 1-0 October 24 in Whitewater, but UW-W has not faced Carthage or Washington this season. Whitewater is 1-2 all-time vs. Dominican, 7-2 versus Carthage, and has never played Washington.
