Whitewater beats #11 Dominican University
The Warhawks remained unbeaten in their last fifteen games with a 1-0 win over Dominican University (IL) Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Fiskum Field in Whitewater. The win brings Whitewater�s season record to 15-1-2 as Dominican,, 14-2-2, loses for just the second time this season.
Ryan Richgels (fr, Madison/Memorial) scored the game winner, his first goal of the season, on a header fifty-seven minutes in to the game. Richgels goal was assisted by Luke Mangognia (so, Hoffman Estates, IL).
Whitewater goalkeeper EJ Sesselmann made five saves to earn his twelfth shut out of the season. Sesselmann (sr, Green Bay/ Notre Dame) is ranked in the top fifteen in several categories in the weekly NCAA Division III statistics rankings.
Whitewater is ranked eighteenth and Dominican University is ranked eleventh in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III poll released today.
Whitewater will look to continue their unbeaten streak Saturday, November 3 at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh at 7:00 p.m. The Oshkosh contest is the final game of the regular season for the Warhawks. Bids for the NCAA Division III tournament will be announced Monday, November 5.
