Emory Men Top Greensboro, 2-1, in Overtime

Greensboro, NC -- Patrick McFarland scored in the 96th minute to lift seventeenth-ranked Emory University to a 2-1 overtime win over Greensboro College on Saturday at Pride Field.

Patrick Carver earned the assist on the game-winner, a play that was disputed by Greensboro College. The Pride felt strongly that the whistle never blew to restart play just prior to the score.

The Eagles sent the game to extra time after tallying in the 89th minute. Alex Diego headed in the tying score. GC played the last 9 minutes of regulation shorthanded.

The game was 0-0 at the break. Greensboro's Bobby Dabbs recorded the match's first goal. He collected a deflection and fired a shot past Keith Meehan (2 saves) in the 55th minute. Krut Gardiner had 4 saves for The Pride.

GC had a 15-9 edge in shots. Emory had 5 corners to 4 for the home team.
