Nor'easters Build Early Lead to Down Curry, 4-2

The Nor'easters (3-7-1, 2-5-1 TCCC) won for the second time in their last four contests after starting the season 1-6. The Colonels now own an overall record of 4-7-3, 2-4-3 in league matches.

Greg Molind '09 (Cabot, Vt.) converted a pass from Tyler Stratton '08 (Fairfax,
Vt.) in the 27th minute to give the Nor'easters a 1-0 lead. UNE would double the margin just inside of intermission when Ryan Ogiela '11 (Redding, Conn.) scored his first collegiate goal. Trevor Secord '10 (Keene, N.H.) was credited with an assist on the play. The Nor'easters outshot Curry 10-5 over the opening 45 minutes to help build their halftime lead.

The Big Blue made it 3-0 early in the second frame when Dylan Saucier '10
(Windham, Maine) put home his second goal--and eventual game-winner--off a pass from Josh Pouliot '08 (Attleboro, Mass.).

Elia Del Molino '11 (Glendale, Mass.) added to UNE's cushion in the 78th
minute, giving the Nor'easters an insurmountable 4-0 lead.

Curry closed strong, however, as Clayton Corto '09 (Manchester, Conn.) kicked home a pair of scores four minutes apart to cut the Nor'easters lead in half.

UNE would hold off the Colonels over the final five minutes to secure victory.

Derek Poulin '10 (Scarborough, Maine) played the first 84 minutes in goal to
record the win. Matt Cribbin '08 (Madison, Conn.) came off the bench to record two saves.

Starting goalkeeper Clark Zelazo '08 (Palmer, Mass.) had five saves for Curry, while William Rhudy '10 (North Manchester, Ind.) came on to register one.

UNE has a one-day layoff before returning to the field Thursday for a road contest with Wentworth Institute of Technology (4:00 p.m.). Curry hosts Eastern Nazarene College Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
