De Baun Athletic Complex Undergoing a Major Face-Lift

HOBOKEN, N.J. (July 2, 2007) During the summer of 2007, Stevens Institute of Technology will be replacing its existing NeXturf field at the De Baun Athletic Complex with a state-of-the-art FieldTurf surface. FieldTurf is recognized as one of the industry leaders for synthetic fields and is currently used at NFL stadiums that are home to the Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and St. Louis Rams.

Since its first high-profile installation at Nebraskas Memorial Stadium in 1997, FieldTurf has become the No. 1 choice at a number of top-level Division I institutions. Currently, FieldTurf is installed at over 300 universities from coast to coast, including Boston College, Louisville, Navy, Oregon, Rutgers, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Washington and Wisconsin.

The De Baun Athletic Complex, which replaced the existing grass field in the fall of 2001, is home to the Ducks field hockey, lacrosse, soccer and baseball programs. The facility is also used extensively for club sports, intramurals and general recreation.

We are very excited to have entered into this agreement with FieldTurf, Director of Athletics Russell Rogers (Branchburg, N.J.) said. Stevens is committed to offering the finest and most state-of-the-art athletic facilities. We are confident that the entire Stevens community will be proud of this field once it is finished.

The resurfacing of the De Baun Athletic Complex is scheduled to be completed in August. To monitor the progress of the project, please check out the official photo gallery at https://www.stevensducks.com/DeBaun.asp. New pictures will be added throughout the summer.
