Athens Collegiate Showdown

Athens (PA)- After a successful event last season that featured two National Champions (Dowling, NCAA DII, and Messiah, NCAA DIII) as well as NCAA DI quarterfinalist Towson, the second annual Athens Collegiate Showdown, Friday April 18th and Saturday April 19th, has finalized it’s field and has a couple of new features.

The biggest change to the event will be the hosting of a professional friendly on Friday April 18th. Two USL rivals, the Rochester Rhinos and the Harrisburg City Islanders, will square off at Alumni Stadium at 7:15 PM. Tickets for the event are $15 for box seating and $5 for general admission. Tickets go on sale on March 17th.

The biggest change to the collegiate event will be the formation of two groups during the day time session. Last season, the teams played for a place through their records only. Dowling College won ...
