Scores, Scores Scores � And Miss Cleo

We have recently updated our current software to support our partnership with D3Scoreboard and PrestoSports. This means, not only will this site continue to deliver the same features that you have come to love/hate (depending on how your team ranks in our latest Top 25 Poll), but also, we will be receiving scores much, much faster. Currently, more than 20 of the 40 or so conferences in division 3 use the D3Scoreboard software, and we will receive scores for these conferences almost as soon as the ref blows the final whistle (unless a game is ended by an overtime goal, well actually, he still whistles for the goal so never mind).

In other news, the NCAA has decided that they will no longer consider the Quality of Wins Index (QWI for all you acronym lovers out there) as a means of determining at large bids for the national tournament. If you didn't know, we use that same QWI to compute our regional rankings (RR), because we feel that our RR will help keep the National Collegiate Athletic Association (bet you didn't see that one comin') in check. We are currently in the process of determining a new means of ranking teams regionally, and if you care to contribute to this decision, feel free to post your comments in the forum. We have received some negative feedback about our RR from angry and saavy scrutinizers of humbly optimized lively enjoyable sites(we'll let you figure out that acronym), and since we want to please our users, we are opened to any ideas that you might have that could incorporate a team's winning percentage, opponent's winning percentage, and opponent's opponent's winning percentage into a formula.

Moving on, its time for me, the alleged son of infomerical phenom, Miss Cleo, to look inside my crystal ball, and reveal the scores of this weekend's best games in d3.

Men's Game of the Week
When I walk into Citizens 1st Bank Perkins Soccer Complex in Tyler, TX this Saturday, I will not do so with my usual neutral bias as a top 25 poll voter. Oh no, my loud cheers from the sidelines will help Patriots better than any video camera that Bill Belichick could ever get his hands on. This week�s game of the week features the University of Texas-Tyler Patriots hosting the Choctaws of Mississippi College, I will experience division 3 soccer with a southern charm.

Prediction: Patriots 5 Choctaws 3

Men's Offensive Game of the Week
When it comes to scoring goals, look no further than top ranked York College of Pennsylvania. When they square off against Lynchburg(5-1) this Saturday, York will become the nation�s leader in goals, as they currently sit just 3 goals behind Johns Hopkins.

Prediction: YCP 5 Lynchburg 1

Men's Defensive Game of the Week
If you really like agriculture and D3 soccer, you should plan a road trip to Dubuque, IA for a matchup between 23rd ranked Loras college and 17th ranked Wartburg college. The Loras Duhawks (some combination of a bird and a bad haircut) will attempt to stay undefeated despite having one of the tougher early schedules in D3 soccer, while Wartburg will look to score goals without the likes of former D3 superstar and Street Fighter 2 guru, Harrison �Sonic Boom� Kibombo-Lugujjo.

Prediction: Loras 1 Wartburg 0

Women's Game of the Week
East meets West in this week�s women�s game of the week, as the battle of Connecticut State Universities goes down in Danbury on Saturday. Ninth ranked Western CT. State will be looking to bounce back from this week�s disappointing loss against Williams College.

Prediction: West-Side 2 East-Side 0

Women's Offensive Game of the Week
Two NESCAC super powers will meet in this week�s offensive game of the week. Both of these teams are undefeated and both have scored lots of goals. If you have time, stop by Brunswick, ME for a battle between Williams College and Bowdoin College, if you have time afterwards, hit the lanes.

Prediction: Williams 3 Bowdoin 2

Women's Defensive Game of the Week
It will not be sunny in the SUNY Athletic Conference on Saturday, as Plattsburgh State hosts 20th ranked Brockport. Both teams average less than a goal allowed per game this season. This game will be a battle that will go down to the final whistle.
