Week 3 Predictions, The Greatest Forum Posts of all Time, and Miss Teen South Carolina

This week will be a very special one in division 3 soccer blogging. Not only am I going to pick the game of the week, offensive game of the week, and defensive game of the week for men's and women's soccer, but also I will reveal my top 25 men�s votes from week 2, as well as the top 15 forum posts of all time. Before we get to the good stuff, let's take a look back to week 2, and see how it went for my predictions. I went 2-0 in men�s soccer, correctly predicting that Hopkins, and Oshkosh would be victorious, while I went 2-1 in women�s soccer, correctly predicting wins for Wheaton and Trinity, while missing the Messiah vs. VWU game. Overall a 4-1 record which isn�t so bad. Ok, now for the good stuff, this is how I voted for my men�s top 25 for week 2. Keep in mind that this included games up to September 9th.

Ok, don�t bother leaving the following comments, I will write them right here for you, along with my rebuttal:

�How can you rank UC-SC, they already have two losses?�
- A valid point, but they have played against strong competition. They have proved to us year in and year out that they are one of the top teams in d3 soccer.

�Ithaca at 21, What are you smoking?�
- Ithaca is 4-0. Granted they have played an easy schedule thus far, it is not nearly as easy as what Richard Stockton, F&M;, Hobart and Ramapo have played. They have one of the tougher schedules for all undefeated teams not in the top 15 or so.

�The problem I have with the top 25 is not with the actual top 25, but with a particular team that received votes. Would someone explain to me how Wabash College recieved any votes. It is absolutely ridiculous. The team was 3-7 in conference play and something like 5-13 overall last year. I am not sure they have been over 500 for the past decade. As an alum of the NCAC I can assure you this team did not deserve any votes let alone 24. �

Have u played against pros before, pros who play for PSV Eindhoven, or Santos?? UMHB will be tough, Bankhead knows what he's doing and last year they were a threat also the year before, if they can get some better defenders they'll make conference. �

�I started this thread to discuss the idea of maybe implementing some more protective equipment to soccer players. I see that the game these days is a lot more physical then in the past especially in division 3, and I was curious on what peoples opinions would be maybe on adding some sort of shoulder and head/helmet padding.

I only want serious replies please, but i was curious if we could add maybe a rib protector or something like that. Please reply I am curious what people thing�

The problem is, though, Whitewater isn't great so Platteville still won't have played too difficult of a schedule. That aside, Platt is not a terrible team, they aren't great but they are decent. Anyway, Platt will win and I can't wait to read what you guys say after the fact. � (Platteville would go on to lose 4-0)

�I would suggest maybe not allowing for head balls anymore and consider the head illegal much like the hand is. It is just an idea.. or maybe the use of one of the arms instead of the head to keep it fair. I do not know these are ideas but are ideas we should experiment. maybe to not allow for head balls one game and see how successful it is. Maybe the use of just the left hand. I do not know I am just throwing options around.

But I think the use of the head should be prohibited. Maybe the ncaa should investigate it�

Men�s game of the week: #16 North Park University played #8 Wartburg college twice last season. Both times North Park lost. This time, NPU will be victorious. Why? Because North Park will be playing at home, and NPU does not lose at home. In addition to the speedy turf that they have become accustomed to, their fans are ruthless. Look for a great game, but also look for a North Park victory.
Prediction: NPU 2 WC 1

Men�s offensive game of the week: Top ranked York College-PA faces off against .500 Christopher Newport this Saturday, and one thing is certain, there will be goals. York College can�t come out soft against a CNU team that, despite their misleading record, is off to a good start considering their opposition. York averages 4.5 goals per game this season, and CNU is no slouch scoring 3.75 a game. Look for 4 or 5 goals in this one, but York should take it with no trouble.
Prediction: York: 4 CNU 1

Men�s defensive game of the week: Undefeated and 17th ranked Linfield will be looking to secure themselves a top 15 spot in next week�s top 25 poll, as they face off against an impressive Whitworth squad. Linfield is off to a great start to their season defensively, allowing just one goal the entire season, while Whitworth sits with a 2-1-1 record, allowing just 3 goals on the season. What happens when an overrated and undefeated team goes up against a very tough conference foe? An upset. Look for Whitworth to prove that they are among the elites in the NWC.
Prediction: Whitworth: 1 Linfield 0

Women�s game of the week: What happens when one undefeated and un-scored-upon team plays another undefeated and un-scored-upon team? That I don�t know, but I can�t wait to find out. 6th ranked University of Rochester will be traveling to 19th ranked Union college this Saturday, and we can only guess what will go down in Schenectady (skəˈnɛktədi), New York�s 9th largest city, and former home of the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Prediction: Rochester 2 Union 0

Women�s offensive game of the week: Emory & Henry college has scored 36 goals so far this season, that�s more than any other team in the country. When they travel to Virginia Wesleyan this Saturday, they will have their first true test of the season, and a chance to get some national attention. I mistakenly picked VWU in the defensive game of the week last week, and I will not do the same this time. Look for goals, goals, goals.
Prediction: VWU 4 E&H; 2

Women�s defensive game of the week: Combined, the University of Chicago, and the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire have allowed just two goals the entire season. Eau Claire sits at #5 in the nation while the U of C just missed this week�s top 25. "Eau Claire" is the singularized form of the original French name, "Eaux Claires", meaning "Clear Waters", and clear water is exactly what sits ahead of them after they knock off Chicago on Saturday, untilhttps://ravel to Wheaton towards the end of the season.
Prediction: UWEC: 2 U-Chicago 0
