Position Requirements: | Duties:
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the development, conduct and overall supervision of the Men's Soccer Program. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Recruit prospective student-athletes including coordinating mailings, calls, email exchanges between coaches and prospective student-athletes, and scout prospective student-athletes. Utilize the assistance of the Athletic Recruiters. 2) Responsible for management and supervision on operating and fundraising budgets, including coordinating team travel and meals and coordinating team fundraising projects. 3) Coordinate team training and conditioning program including traditional and nontraditional segments. 4) Responsible for adherence to all NCAA, Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) and institutional rules and regulations including eligibility of student-athletes, medical hardship documentation and extensions waivers. 5) Coordinate purchase, distribution, collection and inventory of team uniforms, equipment and supplies. 6) Student-athlete development including tracking academic performance, maintaining positive relationships, career development, social skill development and character development. OTHER FUNCTIONS: 1) Develop competitive schedule, 2) Serve as event day staff as needed, 3) Maintain good relations with alum, parents, officials, volunteers and fans, 4) Serve on university, conference and national committees as needed, 5) Positively promote Benedictine University and the Department of Athletics on and off campus.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred. EXPERIENCE: Previous collegiate coaching preferred. SPECIFIC SKILLS: Knowledge of NCAA Division III philosophy, recruitment, rules and regulations. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS: Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budget management skills and demonstrated supervisory skills. Valid driver's license CPR/First Aid/AED certification. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY (if applicable): Oversee Assistant Coaching Staff. WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environment. Nights and weekends required. |
